Counseling / Psychotherapy
I use various treatment approaches but rely primarily on modern psychodynamic psychotherapy. Common to all is the assumption that human beings are complex and unique, and therapy must be tailored to the individual. Success is measured not simply by a reduction in symptoms, but by an individual’s steady psychological growth and development.
Among the possible changes with this type of long-term therapy: Emotional balance — whether you typically feel too little emotion or too much; greater self-awareness and understanding of others; an increased capacity for intimacy; and a belief in yourself — including your talents, abilities, inherent self-worth, and right to exist in the world.
